Our Weekend

Random weekday off for the hubs + 60 degrees + sunshine = one awesome weekend!

Our weekend started on Friday because Alex took the day off so that we could get our taxes done. In the afternoon we went to a furniture store to look for a new couch. We found one we absolutely loved and are considering getting if we move. I love the “cuddler” attachment, i had visions of Liam taking a nap all snuggled up which made me want it even more.

Then we went to Target to buy Liam some 6 month sleep and play outfits because he outgrew his 3 month ones. We got him a few really cute outfits but i was bummed when we got home and i washed the outfits only to put one on him that night after his bath that to find he really could have used a 9 month size because it just fits him (in the picture he kind of looks like a sausage stuffed in it) and he really doesn’t have much room to grow into it. Wish i could wash and return!

That evening we went to get our taxes done and had to take little man with us. Our appointment was at 4:30 but we didn’t get called back until 5. Luckily Liam was a very good and quite boy in the waiting room but by the time we were half way through with the taxes he had had it and got bored. I was so happy when we were done and able to go home.

On Saturday it was 60 degrees and sunny…an awesome early March day! The furry ones were so excited because they got to go outside for the first time in months.

I was so happy when we were able to go out for a walk. Liam and I have been waiting a long time for the weather to break so that we could get out there! Picture: post walk passed out.

Later in the afternoon my brother drove down to spend the rest of the weekend visiting. I went to the grocery store to get our food for the week and i also bought myself almond milk for the first time and I LOVE IT! It has calcium, vitamin d, e, and a, and has only 60 calories per serving. Since the weather was so nice we decided to fire up the grill and have a cook out! Mmmm it was so good. I even made myself a salad that i lived on last summer which consists of quinoa, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, cucumbers, chickpeas, and avocado with a lemon and olive oil dressing…so good! That night we stayed up to watch The Hurt Locker after Liam went to sleep. **Yes, Liam slept through bombs going off in surround sound in the next room…so much like his father** We all really liked the movie. I was exhausted when we put the movie on and only intended on watching for a short amount of time before going to bed but i ended up staying up for the whole thing because it was so good.

Sunday we watched the NASCAR race and then the Oscars in the evening. We played Oscar Bingo and did a voting card….both of which i won! Which means next time we are all together I get to pick the movie we watch. Here is little man and I picking our winners.

I was so exciting on Sunday afternoon because i found something i had been wanting for a while now. I had to run to the grocery store to get a chicken to make for dinner and on my way home i stopped at Starbucks. The drive-thru line was huge so i decided to go inside. Now let me back up and tell you that i have been wanting the to-go ceramic travel mug for about a month and contemplated buying it (even bid on one) on ebay for $30. Well, when i, on a whim, went into Starbucks on Sunday they had them…for $10!!! I am so excited … it is just so cute. They make the clear cold drink cups at well, with a straw and everything, I am keeping my eyes open for one of those next.

Random note….when i was pregnant with Liam we researched the best pacifiers and found that the MAM ones had great reviews so we ended up buying Liam a ton of them only to have him arrive and only want a soothie. Well late last week he suddenly took to the MAM paci out of nowhere. I am happy they are finally getting some use.

Lastly, i am so happy with how my blog makeover came out. If anyone is considering doing a blog makeover or facelift i would highly recommend working with Melissa at BlueBird Design Studio. She is fabulous to work with!

Love reading about your weekend! The couch looks great, love the pic of you and Liam togehter, and our kids take the MAM plugs, too! Our son LOVED his and just parted with them about two months ago (a little over two) and our daughters came home from the NICU only wanting the soothies but starting taking the MAM ones after a few months. They are my fav because they are so cute!

Cute pictures! And a good bargain to blog about, too?! That's awesome! I love a good deal! Glad you got the cup for $10 instead of $30.
