Sunday Funday

Today we took the kids to the Susquehanna Riverlands to have a picnic lunch and go for a walk. It was a gorgeous day and we were so excited to get to enjoy it!

Liam found this stick and proudly announced that it was in fact “a Y”.

IMG_9189

Our picnic entertainment was this man who was taping himself performing tricks with hula hoops to techno music….and of course Liam was all “oooh I want to dance, I dance”.

IMG_9192

After lunch we took a walk and the kids got to ride in the wagon, they loved it!

IMG_9193

When we came home we attempted naps but no one (besides Alex and I) were into that idea. So I made some cookies …. with my little helper at my feet, of course. Since she’s learned to move she is always at my feet…if I strapped a mop on her belly she’d made a great swiffer.

So remember that nap that the kids didn’t think they needed well….both fell asleep watching a movie at 5:45….and neither woke up in good moods. Thankfully both ended up calming down enough to eat dinner and have a fun bath before going to bed for the night, they were wore out.

IMG_2336

….but while they took their little impromptu nap I got to take advantage of the kid free time and do a little of this…summer is so close I can taste it (well, certain feel it!), so excited for summer!!

Trip to Happy Valley

Since Alex was in Texas all last week he took two days off last week to spend some time with us. On Thursday we decided to take a day trip to State College. We’ve been wanting to go and the weather was going to be so nice so we took advantage and packed up the kids and went.

We got there right at lunch time and decided to go for cheesesteaks at CC Peppers, so yummy!! Our poor kids look to disheveled after being in the car so long.

Liam was rocking his aviators on the drive.

IMG_9115

We had a great time walking around our old stomping grounds and of course showing the kids their future campus.

IMG_9121IMG_9124

Hands down Liam's favorite part of the day was seeing the “fishies” at the hub.

IMG_9126

This entire life sciences complex went up since the last time we visited (18 months ago) and it was AMAZING!!IMG_9131IMG_9133IMG_9134IMG_9136

Both kids got to try ice cream from the creamery for the first time, it was a hit!

This is when we had to talk Liam  into getting his picture with the lion who was “scary”….everything is scary to our 2.5 year old.

 IMG_9156

and of course picture with the lion….won’t these just look adorable next to their graduation pictures in 20 and 22 years…. Smile

Ordinary Everyday Life

I’d usually say after such a long blog hiatus that I need to play catch up but in all honesty nothing much has been happening around these parts, just chugging along this thing called life.

 IMG_2200

Since Lucy has become mobile, just as we suspected, she is a little tail. She follows Liam to play and follows me into the kitchen, she’s never to far behind.

IMG_2201IMG_2205

Chicka girl LOVES her some pasta, just like Mama.

IMG_2203

The day my “kid who hates sleep” decided to sleep until 10am because Dada was on baby duty…. clearly there is some kind of agreement I was not made aware of.

Hugging it out … blurry but too cute not to share!

IMG_2224

I spent a whole week as a single parent while Alex was in Texas last week….this about sums it up….. IMG_2227

We jumped in puddles!

IMG_2234

Liam and Baby Bunny…this poor little beat up bunny goes EVERYWHERE with us! IMG_2239

I am not sue if I am just cheap or extremely frugal but I tend to only go to the goodwill on half off days. On Wednesday Alex’s Mom came over to give me some time to “decompress'” (since Alex was out of town) so I took advanced and headed to half off day. Check out the loot! Lots of Ralph Lauren, Gap, and Gymboree for $1-2, gotta love that!

This is Liam’s fish Tebow that lives at Alex’s parents house. He was so cute and started singing a song about Tebow.

IMG_2249

On Friday we planted some herbs in a windowsill planter. Liam had fun helping and Lucy ended up grabbing the plastic and pulling the planter towards her, ripping off some herbs and eating them…so shocking. IMG_2265IMG_2267

Spaghetti

So Liam has been a pretty picky eater since he started table food so we never got to experience some of those classic “babies first time eating” things with him…Lucy on the other hand…well that kid will eat anything and yesterday we got to watch her devour some spaghetti.

Girlfriend LOVED her some spaghetti (and garlic cheese bread),she was laughing and smiling the whole time. Then she got to experience her first “sink bath” because she looked like an oompa loompa LOL

This weekend I made Snickers Brownies…holy cow….they were amazing!! If you make them we all would recommend eating them cold from the fridge, they were so much better cold then room temp. Yumm Yumm!!!

Fifty Shades of …… awesomeness……

So last week…. yeah, it went a little something like this (I promise I did feed the kids, I even cleaned too)

life taken over by fictional characters (Fifty Shades Darker, second book, was my favorite!)
