Videos for Grandma

My mom informed me yesterday I was about due to post a new video of Liam so without further ado i give you Liam dancing … it was while watching Glee and no Daddy was not very happy with me about it.

and a mash up of a few random videos from the last week or so.

Enjoy!

So in two days Liam will be 9 months old. I am sure you’ve heard “9 months to put it on, 9 months to take it off”…..i guess i have two days to lose about 10 pounds….maybe we’ll go for a walk today….

Happy Boy on a Sunday Night

Bath time turns a fussy and tired Liam into a ball of excited and happy energy.IMG_2253

and crawl through the whole upstairs with his hooded towel on.

We laughed so hard chasing him around as he was laughing and going so fast he would fall. IMG_2267

Alex got a new phone, a totally awesome (Droid X) new phone, which mean Liam got a new (old) phone to play with. He was thrilled!

On Saturday we went to Alex’s softball teams annual cook out and corn hole tournament. Liam and I had a good time playing in the grass, going on the swings, and meeting (and getting licked) by a doggie.

A good day!

Nothing like snuggling with an oversized rabbit while watching Sid the Science Kid. DSC02439

Liam and I went to the Children’s Museum today with my old co-worker Erin, her son, mom, and niece. DSC02456 DSC02457

Liam got to ride the carousel for the very first time and love it! I’m not going to lie i got a bit choked up while riding with him. How can he be old enough to be riding a carousel already? Where did my newborn go?DSC02459 DSC02461

He really wanted to go outside this afternoon but being that is was 97 degrees (on our thermometer in the shade) and we had a heat advisory, we decided to hang out inside. DSC02465 DSC02466

It was amazing for me to watch Liam at the museum today and see how much he has grown up since the last time we were there (only three months ago). He really enjoyed seeing everything and interacting with a lot of the stuff. He got to crawl through the train tunnel and see all the trains. He got to watch the One World, One Sky show in the planetarium and sat SO WELL during the whole show watching (it helped that Big Bird and Elmo hosted the show), and he got to crawl and climb around the children under two section. He was climbing up the stairs, across the bridge, and would wheel barrel crawl down the stairs (there was only two foam steps but i was still impressed by him ability and lack of fear to head straight down).

Yesterday we went swimming with our playgroup again. Liam once again showed he is such a water baby. I am not sure if it was a coincidence or if we knew what he was doing but i had him in a small sit in float and would say “kick kick kick kick” and he would start kicking his feet and would move himself towards me…..and he said “ick ick ick”.

Take My Picture -aholic

I think i’ve created a monster or at least a “take my picture-aholic” IMG_2228

Every time he sees a camera he starts smiling…IMG_2229

….and loves for it to be pointed in his direction! “Mama take my picture”IMG_2231

Any bald baby Mama will tell you the first sign of some locks growing is a very exciting thing and requires pictures. IMG_2239

Independent Night Randomness

Monday nights in our house are “independent night” aka Alex plays xbox and i am left finding something to occupy my time. Tonight's entertainment was this totally random post.

[Hey Mom (Grandma) if i strap a cupcake tin to his chest i think we could have another Matt story on our hands.]

Liam has become a belly and side sleeper lately and i thought he looked too cute all curled up napping the other day not to take this picture. Okay, at this point i have to admit that i am so happy that we decided to finally do cry it out with Liam at night to try and help correct his sleeping troubles. He has slept straight through the night without needing me to go in and give him his pacifier or rock him for over a week now! Just a short two weeks ago i was going in almost every other hour to do one of those two things. It only took about two nights until he slept through for the first time, the next night he got up once, the next night slept fine, the next night got up once, and then slept fine since then. Last night i heard him give out one little whimper cry and then stopped then do it again and then got comfy and fall back to sleep all by himself!DSC02413

I moved Liam’s exersaucer out of the “party pit’ (play area) and created a reading spot for him. He had a good time looking at this Elmo books yesterday.DSC02422 DSC02423

Today we all took a trip to Andersons Orchard which Alex and I have loved to go to since we moved here two years ago. Last time we were there we were a short four weeks from meeting Liam for the first time.

We got some great sweet corn and gave some to Liam to try during dinner…the verdict…he loved it!

DSC02428

After our trip to the orchard we went to McAlister’s for lunch. Liam was waiting so patiently for some food.

His hair has really started to grow within the last week and in the back it is growing straight up. Talk about an Alfalpha do.

Kneeling to play ‘cause it’s the cool thing to do.

Our night may or may not have ended with the three of us in our PJ’s standing in the frozen food section of the grocery store because we wanted ice cream.

Random thought of the night…you know you are a Mom when the songs that get stuck in your head these days are from PBS shows…if i sing one more Sid The Science kid song tonight …HA

Fearlessly learning to do new things

Liam has learned to do a few new things in the last week that i wanted to write down before i forgot.

Last week he started stepping to stand up instead of just pulling himself up. This means he is now able to stand on objects that he doesn’t have a full grip on, such as my leg.

IMG_2193

He also learned to go from holding onto the storage cube, turn and hold onto the play yard with the other hand and then turn and walk to it. This morning he cruised around the whole inside of his pack and play holding on.

IMG_2207

The picture below just cracks me up because he just looks like a mini Alex with his build and outfit…..like father like son!

IMG_2203

Last night Alex and I were putting clothes away and filled a bin up with all the hangers. Liam has a blast standing holding onto the bin and emptying all the hangers out one by one. He also repeatedly tried to stand on his own last night. The longest he was able to do it was about 5 seconds and then he plopped on his butt, which i was very proud oh him for doing. We have been practicing falling and sitting for about a week now because he is having trouble figuring how to get down from standing. He usually bends over far enough that his one hand will touch the ground and he will let go or he will kneel back down and turn to crawl away.

In the last week or so I have been giving Liam more of what we are having for dinner to try, just a little so he get used to eating more and more table food. After the initial gag on the difference in texture he has liked everything he has tried.

He has also started to become super vocal and it constantly babbling, yelling, or singing. Yes, signing. We will be those parents on American Idol in  15 years talking about how he used to sing to us since he was only eight months old. **he really was singing in this picture**

Here is a video of completely random things he has done within the last few weeks.
