Our Gallery Wall

Since we I take 40,987 pictures of Liam everyday i decided to do a gallery wall in our living room, well make that a second gallery wall. I love how it came out; I wasn’t able to capture how good it looks in person in the picture but you get the idea. All of the frames are from Michaels and part of their Create You Own Gallery line. They are really nice and good quality for the price, i got them at a steal when they were also 55% off. The three frames on the right hand side, not part of the CYOG line, were on sale for $1.99 each and match the other great.

This is our first gallery wall. We have an autographed frame from our wedding, a few other wedding pictures, two pictures of our fur babies, a picture of Alex, Liam and I when he was only 5 days old, a new picture of Liam i took a few weeks ago, and a collage of our home town.

HAHA i just noticed that y’all can see  how we ghetto rigged up the doorway jumper.

What we’ve been up to..

Liam's toes found his mouth, good thing baby feet don’t get dirty.

IMG_0804

My brother, Uncle Matt, came to visit over the weekend and they all watched the MMA fight on Saturday.

 IMG_0825

Mr. Nigel found the cat bed for the first time in his life….he is two…oh and incase you are wondering behind him is a kitty cat toy box….they are spoiled too.

IMG_0832

Liam flying, he absolutely loves to do this. HAHA do you like Paul Rudd in the background on Sesame Street, love him! This is my favorite episode (The Princess Show). IMG_0836

I guess what they say about a growth spurt it true….you wake up once day and the pants are too short! These fit him just fine last week, then he started eating like a crazy man, napping a bit more, a tad crankier and then BAM has no clothes that fit. His onesie is a frog with a crown and says Prince Charming….it is just too cute. IMG_0847

I am sad to say the weather is no longer in the 80’s but we are still getting out for our after dinner family walks. It was 65 tonight which after a week of 80’s felt a lot cooler, so Liam rocked his hat one more time. I am going to be so sad when he outgrows this hat, i’ll have to look into ordering a larger size for next fall/winter. IMG_0870

…and my last update. Liam is currently sleeping in this crib (for the night) for the very first time. I am heartbroken. My little man is growing up. Can’t he stay in our room until he is 1, 1.5 maybe, 2, ok more like15.

DIY: Woven Rattan Balls

Rattan and Wickerwork

If you’ve been shopping at a home store within the last year you were bound to see woven rattan balls on display. They have been popping up everywhere like West Elm, Pottery Barn, and Pier 1. I was looking for a new arrangement for our kitchen table for the summer and wanted something light, airy, and natural. When i saw a tutorial done on Frugal Home Ideas i knew i had to take on this project.

What you will need:

- Stiffy or another fabric stiffener

-Zip lock bag

- Balloons

- Clothes Pins

- Twine or hemp (you can choose from a variety of different colors and thicknesses)

IMG_0786

First blow up the balloons for different sizes and arrange then in the bowl of choice. I did one extra large, one large, a few medium, and a few small.IMG_0787

Once the balls are wrapped they will need to be hung to dry. I got creative with this and came up with the best thing i could think of. There may be a much better and easier way but this one worked out just fine. I tied twine onto clothes pins and then tied the cloth pit onto the shelf in our laundry room. I hung them at different lengths so the balls would not touch.

IMG_0788 IMG_0789

Sorry no pictures of this step because my hands were full of glue.

1. Put the twine/hemp into the zip lock bag, pour in some fabric stiffener and squish around to coat.

2. Take the twine out and begin to wrap the balloon, wrap and wrap and wrap until you are happy with how it looks, you can wrap it heavily or lightly depending on the look you are going for.

::Oh no the eyes are open….work fast::

IMG_0790

3.Then hang the balloon by the end to try for at least an hour. IMG_0792

Once the are dry and hard pop the balloon using a pin. I found that once i popped the balloon cutting the end off was the easiest way to completely deflate because of the amount of glue that was on the balloon.

IMG_0797 IMG_0798

Simply pull the balloon out through one of the opening and you have your finishes product!

It was super easy, a lot of fun, and great to save some money!

Liam Recommends: Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder

We got Liam the Munchkin Fresh Food Feeders for Easter and he absolutely LOVES them.

Fresh Food Feeder

I have been freezing small chunks of banana and he loves chomping on them, mashing them up, and sucking them out through the mesh. Today alone he went through five refills, almost a half of a banana. They are wonderful because you can use them with a baby as young as Liam who is not yet ready to eat small chunks of fruit and you can also use them with slightly older babies with foods that have a choking hazard such as grapes.

Dishwasher, Decorating and Ducks

Our dishwasher installation was a success! Good job hubs! Since we found out we will be staying in Indy we have been brainstorming about what changes we would like to do to our house. One that we both agree on is the kitchen; new flooring, appliances, countertops and possible cabinets are in our distant future. Since the dishwasher broke we decided that we would do our first upgrade with a black Kenmore dishwasher and we really like it.

IMG_0697

Liam now only likes to sit up in his bouncy seat, no worries he is still strapped in. I love the frog hanging out of his mouth, it cracks me up.

IMG_0701

Since we got our pictures taken when we were home in PA i have had a large family portrait to hang. I decided to do another gallery wall in our living room. All we need to do now is hang them. Here is the layout i am going for, the small box is a light switch.

It has been in the high 70’s, lower 80’s all week and Liam and I have been enjoying every minute of it. Although we did get stalked by a wasp for two blocks and i freaked out in the middle of the sidewalk  because i didn’t know what to do. I swear, anyone watching from their windows was probably rolling from laughing at me. We took a nice long walk the other day and spent sometime sitting in the shade playing with Sophie, it was wonderful!

I love how you can see me taking the picture in his eyes.

Last night Alex went to the HOA meeting and is now a board member and volunteered me to revamp our HOA website. I am also trying to get in touch with the women who is suppose to be heading our social committee (key word suppose to be) because I'd really love to start a mom’s group. There are a ton of stay at home mom’s in our neighborhood and it would just be great to be able to get together and have a play date or go for a walk and still be so close to home. While Alex was at the (two and a half hour) meeting Liam and I went for a walk to the pond to see if we could find any ducks.
